Welcome to the Judicial Conduct and Investigations Office (JCIO). The JCIO took over the responsibilities of the Office for Judicial Complaints (OJC) on the 1st October 2013.



Spam emails purporting to be from the Ministry of Justice

The Judicial Conduct Investigations Office is aware that a spam email has been sent out to individuals purporting to come from the Ministry of Justice in relation to a judicial compaint. We can confirm that this email has no connection to our office or the Ministry of Justice and this incident has been reported to our IT security department for resolution. Anyone who has received the spam email should delete it without following any of the instructions contained within.  


Changes to the Judicial Discipline (Prescribed Procedures) Regulations and supporting rules

The Regulations and Rules governing judicial discipline have been amended with effect from 18 August 2014. All existing and new complaints will be considered under the Judicial Discipline (Prescribed Procedures) Regulations 2014 which can be found on this website - http://judicialconduct.judiciary.gov.uk/rules-and-regulations.htm.             

Changes to making a complaint
All complaints must be made to the JCIO within three months from the date when the incident occurred. Complaints received from 1 October 2013 will be subject to the three month time limit and will not be accepted if they relate to events which fall outside of this three month period.
